Healthy Mother and Baby

Spectrum Health United Lifestyles Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) provides the tools necessary for expectant and new mothers to provide a healthy, safe environment that allows their babies to grow and thrive, ultimately reducing infant mortality. MIHP is intended for some of our most vulnerable community members: high-risk, Medicaid-eligible pregnant women and their families.

MIHP serves families throughout the pregnancy and the infant’s first year of life. The program makes a significant difference for struggling moms who are in need of additional support to offer a safe and healthy environment for babies.

We are also able to provide tangible items of support. Pack ‘n plays, car seats, baby gates, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Diapers are one of the most basic necessities; the MIHP is able to provide them to those in need because of gifts made to this program.

The infant death rate for Montcalm County is high. The needs of these vulnerable populations vary widely, and MIHP wants to help in any way possible. Your gifts will help this program to continue to serve families in need, and we are looking to secure two years’ worth of funding to sustain the program.

Your gifts are critical to ensure the future of this vital community program.
